The short version: Bumpwise collects no data. None.
Bumpwise has no sign-up, no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no servers of our own. We cannot see what you scan, search, or save — and neither can anyone else.
Your scan history, saved lists, and optional due date are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. They are never uploaded anywhere by Bumpwise.
Bumpwise makes two kinds of lookup, and only when you scan a barcode:
No user identifier, no location, no due date, nothing else is sent. Label scanning (reading the ingredient panel with your camera) happens entirely on your device and works with no internet at all.
The camera is used only to read barcodes and ingredient labels, live on the device. Photos you import for scanning are processed on-device and are not stored by Bumpwise or sent anywhere.
If you tap "Suggest this ingredient" or "Tell us about this product", Bumpwise opens a draft in your own email app, pre-filled with the ingredient names or barcode. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, from your own account. The app has no server of its own and never transmits a suggestion automatically. If you do email us, we receive what you send (your email address and message) — the only time anything leaves your phone, entirely at your initiative.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We receive no personal payment information.
Bumpwise is intended for adults and is not directed at children.
If this policy ever changes, the update will appear on this page with a new date. Given the app's design — no data collection — we don't expect it to.
